PJ's was founded in 1977, and over the years has grown to become one of the leading precision fabricators with state of the art CNC equipment. Today we occupy a 40,000 square foot facility in Canton, Ohio with capabilities in CNC laser cutting, CNC punching and CNC forming. With our comprehensive fabricating facility, powder-coating department, certified welders, warehouse and shipping operation, we can provide you a modern single source to meet all your fabricating and finishing needs.

PJ's can assist you with its experienced, dedicated staff and wide range of processing capabilities. We can help turn your rough sketches into engineering drawings, build your prototypes and then meet your production requirements. The final product, whether delivered to you or drop shipped directly to your customer, will be of excellent quality, documented and shipped to your specifications. Since 1989, PJ’s has been the leader of installing and servicing mobile communication systems. We have completed jobs from single unit installs to thousands of systems nationally and globally. Our installation experience spans from Vans, Straight Trucks, Tractor Trailer Trucks, Heavy Equipment, Emergency and Military Vehicles, and beyond.

PJ’s History

1977 Started PJ’s Welding as a basic small job shop. Specialized in fabricating and welding. Located at 3408 Navarre Road – Canton, Ohio.
1978 Added auto body repair. Started semi-trailer welding repair for Roadway Express.
1979 Purchased U.S. Towing. Changed name to PJ’s U.S. Towing. Began re-conditioning semi-tractors for Roadway Express.
1980 Became PJ’s Body & Welding. Contracted with Roadway Express to design and develop a chocking system for hauling automobiles.
1982 Opened a mechanical repair division.
1983 Fabricated battery-packing systems for Harris Battery trucks.
1984 * Outgrew old location, moved next door to 3406 Navarre Road.
* Added new paint booth and frame straightening system to body shop.
1985 Awarded towing contract by City of Canton, Ohio.
1986 Contracted with Robert’s Express to design, develop and produce twenty-two specialty trailers for hauling automobiles or 48’ of freight.
1988 Began a three-year project, fabricating Mezzanine and Machine guards for Metro Media Technologies – Wooster, Ohio. Designed and built trailers for hauling hazardous waste for Trans Tech Environmental. Became PJ’s Towing, Inc.
1989 Manufactured satellite antenna mounting brackets for Robert’s Express. Installed Qualcomm (Omni-tracs) satellite communication systems for Robert’s Express. Became field installers for Qualcomm.
1990 Became a certified service and repair center for Qualcomm. Designed, patented, trademarked and manufactured Cycle Carriage.
1991 Completed initial design of a satellite-mounting bracket, known as an AMA-31 for Qualcomm. Manufactured AMA-31 and AMA-33 satellite brackets for Qualcomm. Began fabricating structural steel (I-beams, columns, etc.) for the construction industry.
1992 Purchased a CNC Strippit Punch Press, a 10’x1/4” shear, an 8ft. – 60 ton Wysong Press and 16’ Vibratory Deburring Machine.
1995 Purchased 7 acres at 1511 Linwood S.W. for future expansion. Became PJ’s Fabricating, Inc.
1996 Purchased a CNC Laser Punch Press.
1997 On property purchased in 1995 at 1511 Linwood S.W. Built a 7200 sq. ft. office and install shop for PJ’s Canton. Leased 4000 sq. ft. and opened PJ’s Detroit. (PJ’s Canton and PJ’s Detroit are both Authorized Qualcomm Service Centers.)
1998 Purchased four Ford Windstars for road installs.
1999 Purchased a CNC Wysong brake (10ft. – 140 ton). Building a 26,000 sq. ft. office and new fabricating shop.
1999 Have installed in excess of 26,000+ Qualcomm Omnitracs systems. • 14,000+ road installs • 12,000+ in the shop
2000 Opened new building for fabricating and powder coat. Purchased Trumpf 2000R Punch Press. Set up powder coat line at 1511 Linwood Ave. S.W.
2001 Updated Navarre Rd. warehouse facility, shipping and packing department 6800 Sq. Ft.
2003 Installed Qualcomm Satellite Systems on off road equipment, all over the USA. Traveled to Germany to install satellite systems for the military.
2005 Purchased 4000 watt 6 axis laser from Mazak Corporation. Built 9000 sq. foot addition, bringing our total sq. feet to 42,200. Sold property on Navarre Rd. to build new warehouse on Linwood.
2006 Installed Time Saver 36 inch belt sander with dust collector.
2007 Purchased 2 new welding machines, 1 Hobart 350 TIG, 1 Miller 250MIG
2008 Purchased Esab 400 amp wire feed. Purchased Inventor software.
2009 Purchased PEM setting machine.
2010 Purchased Mitsubishi 4000 watt dual bed laser. Purchased Virtek Laser Scanner, for checking parts and reverse engineering.
2011 Purchased 230 Ton Cincinnati Brake Press and Tooling.
2012 Purchased 350 amp Miller TIG welder. Purchased 2KW Hy Hybrid Laser Machine with 12” Z-aris opening, Tube Bender and Cincinnati press brake
2012 Converted lighting in the manufacturing plant and offices to energy efficient lighting
2013 Purchased Trumpf TruPunch 3000 punch press.
2014 Purchased GMC PBR-0412 Power Bending Roller. Purchased JET Lathe. Purchased Rong Fu Drill Press. Purchased Fanuc S430S Robot Welder. Purchased Ercolina 030 Mega Bender. Purchased Toyota 5FGC20 Fork Lift.
2015 Purchased Americor 2 – 4 Roll Type Sheet and Plate Bending Rolls
